The number of people employed by the print industry worldwide has shrunk by 14.8% since 2018, according to the latest figures from business intelligence service Smithers.

The number of people employed by the print industry worldwide has shrunk by 14.8% since 2018, according to the latest figures from business intelligence service #Smithers.

While investment in automation has allowed some companies to produce work at lower cost and with fewer staff, investment in tech can help companies produce the same output with a more shorthanded staff.

Adam Page, Smithers’ director of research and reports, said: “Across all press types, better on-press automation and smarter software mean that overall print room efficiencies are improving. Across 2024-2028, there will be further consolidation of printing businesses. The trend for reduced staffing will continue as well, with superior automation, enhanced workflows, and digital printing, improving operational efficiency, but with fewer staff, compensating for the ongoing shortage of skilled print room staff.”

So despite the fact that print worker numbers has shrinked 15% globally since 2018, #DynamicsPrint can help #print & #packaging companies reduce their workhours of up to 50%, and make sure the same output is produced with less time consumption and reduced staff.
